OZEV Electric Car Grant
OZEV, the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles, replaced OLEV, the Office for Low Emission Vehicles, to reflect the UK’s stronger focus on achieving net zero.
The change followed the government’s commitment to end the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles from 2030, shifting attention from “low” emissions to “zero” emissions.
OZEV is a government team supporting the UK’s transition to electric vehicles. Its work includes developing EV technology, supporting charging infrastructure, and providing grants and funding to make electric vehicle adoption easier.
OZEV operates as part of the Department for Transport and wider government energy policy.
