ECO5 Grant
ECO5 is the UK government’s Energy Company Obligation scheme running from April 2026 to 2030, targeting a 68% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. The program introduces carbon footprint-based eligibility, prioritizing high-emission households regardless of income level.
Unlike ECO4’s focus on benefit recipients, ECO5 expands eligibility to middle-income families, private landlords, and homeowners with EPC ratings D-G for fully-funded or subsidized upgrades.
The scheme focuses on renewable generation and comprehensive retrofit solutions rather than traditional boiler replacements, positioning heat pumps and solar photovoltaic systems as centerpiece technologies. Additional measures include cavity wall insulation, loft insulation, floor insulation, smart thermostats, and off-grid heating alternatives for rural properties.
